Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) is active in helping congregations and communities respond to a variety of crisis situations.
First and foremost, we are people of prayer. PDA provides prayers you can use yourself, or that can be used in public worship. Here is a prayer following the violence in Charlottesville, VA, and here is a prayer in the midst of Hurricane Harvey.
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance provides a variety of services, from making flood clean-up kits available, to helping people clean and rebuild long after the storm is over. PDA also provides emotional and spiritual care for those who feel bewildered and overwhelmed by what has happened to them. Read all about Presbyterian Disaster Assistance here.
You can donate to PDA (read here about how to send money), or text PDA to 20222 to make a $10 donation.
A variety of organizations are helping survivors of Hurricane Harvey. I have worked with PDA on disaster recovery trips, and encourage you to consider PDA in your donation. Their work on long-term recovery is outstanding.
