The main Scripture selection for Sunday, March 17 is Psalm 27. Read it here. So many verses from Psalm 27 could be sermons unto themselves:
- The Lord is my light and salvation… (verse 1)
- Wait for the Lord… (verse 14)
- I believe I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living… (verse 13)
During Sunday’s sermon the key concept will be seeing God’s goodness “in the land of the living.” Somehow in the church we have become overly fascinated with what happens after we die, and we forget to talk about what happens while we live.
The Presbyterian tradition teaches that God is active here and now, in our world today.
Where have you seen God’s goodness in everyday life? Do you need patience to see or recognize these glimpses of God’s goodness?
