To enhance learning during Sunday School, all children and youth will experience a variety of activities that accommodates the unique blend of natural skills of each individual, such as musical, visual, verbal, logical, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, existential, and moral.*
Our curriculum for our Preschool and Elementary Sunday School classes is Growing in Grace & Gratitude. Growing in Grace & Gratitude is rooted in the foundation of Presbyterian identity where God’s grace and our gratitude are the heartbeat of our faith, life, and worship. The curriculum extends an invitation to discipleship that inspires children to learn and practice hospitality, generosity, and love, and it reaches beyond Sunday morning, encouraging children to live their lives as an expression of God’s grace. Our teachers for the preschool class are Amber Daves, Diana Robinson, and Jordan Lupton. Our teachers for the elementary school class are Jo-Anne Woodruff, and Stephanie Wittman.
Our Youth Sunday School class is a combined class of our middle and high school youth. Youth (6th through 12th grades) will be learning about the Bible through a curriculum titled Fathom. The mission of Fathom is to dive deep into the story of God that we find in the Bible. Youth will encounter Scriptures filled with inspiration and encouragement, and will also explore passages that are more complicated and challenging. Each lesson will focus on one passage, but will also launch into the larger context of how God’s story is being told through that passage. More importantly, each lesson will explore how God’s story is intimately tied to our own stories, and how a God who is beyond our imagination can also be a God who loves us deeply and personally. Teachers are Clint Burklin, Claire Capps, and Andre’ Pierce.
