Migrant Farmworker Ministry

Each summer, NHPC partners with Episcopal Farmworker Ministry to help a camp of migrant farmworkers in eastern North Carolina.

These men are recruited each year to spend the summer and early fall in the U.S., working on farms and living in what the average American would consider meager accommodations.

NHPC helps by providing personal care/hygiene items, as well as pants and long sleeve shirts to protect workers from pesticides.  Most years we have provided a washing machine as well.

Travel Hopefully

This plaque is in Duke Gardens, not too far away from NHPC.

We don’t always know what lies ahead of us. Yet, time moves on ahead even if we are afraid of traveling along with it.

So the best way to travel is with hope. If we look carefully, we will little bits of encouragement along the way.
