March 31 sermon thought: Droughts and Downpours

Have you ever experienced a drought in your spiritual life? I have, and I hear about it from others.

I have just become aware of spiritual downpours, very different from the drought! Are there times when we’re overwhelmed with sacred moments and meanings? Or overwhelmed with serious moments that demand a response, such as a loved one’s grave illness?

In Psalm 32, the psalmist writes that rushing waters will not reach the faithful (verse 6.)

On Sunday I’ll spend some time thinking about how God’s Spirit helps us in the time of downpour, as well as the time of drought. See you Sunday!
