Sermon preview for Sunday, February 23
Peter asks the early Christians to be attentive to the Word, just as they would pay attention “to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts.” (from 1 Peter 1:19)
Even the tiniest light can make a difference. Most children who are afraid of the dark need only a small nightlight to comfort them. A patch of sunshine after days of rain can feel like a blaze of light.
Jesus’ light never goes out. Let’s follow Peter’s encouragement to keep that light ever before us.
