The prophet Jeremiah encourages his people, who were wondering what to do now that their nation had lost a war and they had been exiled: “But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.” (Jer. 29:7)
Spiritual life is not just about our individual sense of peace or inspiration. A full spiritual life also means self-sacrifice, working for others’ well-being, doing the right thing on behalf of our neighbor.
On Sunday I will highlight our congregation’s efforts on behalf of students at our local schools, three of which are just around the corner from our church.
See you Sunday!
