The third Sunday of Advent is called the Joy Sunday. At one time, Christian observance of Advent had more overtones of repentance, and the third Sunday of Advent was a joyful reprieve. It was represented by the color pink. Today, the Joy Sunday is part of a series of emphases, including peace, hope, and love.
At New Hope, we celebrate Joy Sunday through our Christmas pageant.
This week, we have also begun preparations for the fourth Sunday of Advent. Christmas is almost here!
